About Upshift
Upshift specializes in two specific marketing services–contest management and marketing data services.
We spend our days (and nights) working on contests / sweepstakes /
competitions and contest-related technology, from paper to web to SMS,
and deliver programs throughout North American and the United Kingdom.
The founder of Upshift, Brian Makse, teaches database marketing at George Brown College
and serves on the College’s Post-Graduate Marketing Program Advisory
Council. Brian served as Director of Membership and Partnerships
with The Advertising Club of Toronto from 2003 through 2007.
In his spare time, Brian occasionally dons a helmet to play with
race cars. In 2006, Brian won the Alternative Fuel class in the
infamous Cannonball Run / One Lap of America. In the fall of 2007, Brian joined forces with his One Lap of America teammates to win the inaugural 24 Hours of LeMons Detroit.
